Industry is a pillar of China's economy. In 2023, the total industrial-added value reached 39.9 trillion yuan, accounting for 31.7% of GDP. As a giant energy consumer, the industrial sector's energy conservation and emission reduction are crucial for achieving China's carbon neutrality and peak carbon goals. The Implementation Plan for Carbon Emission Peak in the Industrial Sector states that by 2025, energy consumption per unit of added value for large industrial enterprises will decrease by 13.5% compared to 2020, and carbon dioxide emissions in the industrial sector will peak before 2030.

Driven by the goal of carbon peaking, China’s vast number of industrial enterprises offers broad market potential for C&I solar and storage. Commercial and industrial (C&I) solar PV and energy storage are key tools for corporate energy conservation and emission reduction. These technologies are widely applied in industrial sectors like automotive manufacturing, chemicals, food processing, steel, and industrial parks.
